And enjoy! Magic #1 It was discovered that nobody can create a FOLDER anywhere on the computer which can be named as âCONâ. This is something pretty coolâŚand unbelievable. .. At Microsoft the whole Team, couldnât answer why this happened! TRY IT NOW ,IT WILL NOT CREATE â CON â FOLDER
MAGIC #2(this one is the best out of the three) For those of you using Windows, do the following: 1.) Open an empty notepad file 2.) Type âBush hid the factsâ (without the quotes) 3.) Save it as whatever you want. 4.) Close it, and re-open it. Is it just a really weird bug? Confused? MAGIC #3 This is something pretty cool and neatâŚand unbelievable. .. At Microsoft the whole Team, including Bill Gates, couldnât answer why this happened! It was discovered by a Brazilian. Try it out yourself⌠Open Microsoft Word and type =rand (200, 99) And then press ENTER. I wonder if thats why? Comment posted by Will at 12/18/2007 8:26:18 PM It appears that the numbers used in the ârandâ example have the following meanings: the first number is the number of times the sentence is repeated altogether. The second number is the number of those sentences grouped together in each un-indented paragraph. (Try it with smaller numbers and see.) Comment posted by outlander at 12/18/2007 3:48:16 PM Actually, the folder named âCONâ CAN be created. A few months back, I downloaded the movie Con Air through the news reader Grabit and had the program make me a folder named âCONâ. Granted, the movie was in great shape but i was unable to delete, rename or move this folder until i reformatted my array. Comment posted by Ryan at 12/18/2007 7:24:10 AM These are all cool but the George Bush one doesnât work for me. Iâm running Vista so it must be an XP or older thing. Comment posted by maef at 11/28/2007 6:04:39 PM âFranz jagt im komplett verwahrlosten Taxi quer durch Bayern.â is the German equivalent to âThe quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog.â A sentence which contains every letter in the alphabet. Why they chose to output the German version is beyond me though. Comment posted by SlightlyShadySEO at 11/27/2007 8:36:28 PM The âconâ trick is because of a popular trick from windows 95/98 where you would try and go to c:/con/con and it would crash the computer Comment posted by pas at 11/27/2007 5:59:37 PM another filename that is impossible to save is âAUXâ.. iâve discovered this fact.. why? Comment posted by Peter Griffin at 11/27/2007 4:30:20 PM You also canât create a folder called âAUXâ Comment posted by amrmo13 at 11/27/2007 1:44:45 PM The Bush one didnât work fo rme, but Iâm on vistaâŚthe other two did. Neat. Comment posted by Mandi at 11/27/2007 12:21:31 PM I knew about the random text generator, but the Bush notepad trick was funny as hell. Comment posted by Hevach at 11/27/2007 12:19:30 PM #2 can be duplicated with a few strings. Itâs because ASCII and Unicode both have no header or formatting information, and both are valid (but illegible) when read as the opposite format. A few short text strings cause Notepad to open a file as Unicode when it was saved as ASCII. Opening the âBush hid the factsâ file in Edit or most other text editors will work, and newer versions of Notepad can resolve it correctly. Comment posted by Thomas Schaaf at 11/27/2007 9:14:23 AM =rand (..,..) Makes random text. It is the same as Lorem Ipsum.. (Google for it if you dont know what that is) Comment posted by Brad D. at 11/26/2007 2:40:10 PM Fun Computer Magic⌠Although these are not really easter eggs, they are mostly bugs they are pretty interesting. CON is a device from way back in the old dos days COPY CON FILE.DAT means copy form CONSOLE which is why you can\ât create a CON fileâŚ
